Kindly refer to the Calendar of Departmental
Examination received from Postal Directorate and Circulated vide this office
letter No. Rectt/1-28/ CAL/20137 dated 01/01/2014.
As per the calendar of Departmental examinations, the PO/RMS (T/S) Accountants
examination is scheduled to be held on 25.5.1014.
2.
The Divisional Heads are requested to call for the applications from eligible
candidates for the examination irrespective of the fact whether or not there is
vacancy in the Dn./Unit. Only the candidates equal to the fifteen times of
vacancies based on their seniority in PA/SA Cadre will be permitted to appear
at the examination.
3.
Wide publicity should be given including those who are on leave/deputation.
4.
The Time Table of the Examination is as under :-

This examination is qualifying one as indicated in Directorate’s memo No.
9-6/79-SPB-I dated 25.2.1980 circulated vide C.O. Mumbai Memo No.
R&E-10/Ord dated

All PAs/SAs who have not less than 3 years continuous service including the

The syllabus for examination will be as contained in Directorate letter
No.9-2/89-period spent on training immediately before appointment as PA/SA on
the last date fixed for the receipt of application and have been declared
permanent/confirmed before that date and have consistently good record of
service for the preceding 3 years are eligible to apply for the examination
irrespective of the fact whether or not there is a vacancy in the
Division/Unit. SPB II dated 10.11.1989 and 17.1.1990 circulated vide C.O.
Mumbai No.R&E-10/Orders/II dated 16.1.1990 and 2.2.1990. The candidates who
have secured exemptions in the examinations held earlier with old syllabus will
no longer be

Under the revised syllabus the officials securing at least 60%(SIXTY PERCENT)
(d)
The number of chances admissible is THREE (3) only. If a candidate secures more
marks in a particular paper will be exempted from appearing in that paper in
the next two subsequent examinations, if otherwise eligible. than 35% of marks
in aggregate and failed will be given one more chance to appear in this
examination. This chance includes the exemption given, to any candidate, if
any. However, the two chances taken by any officials while in APS will not be
counted towards the maximum of prescribed number of chances.

8. TIME LIMIT
(i)
Last date of receipt of applications from Candidates-16-4-2014 to Division/Unit
(ii)
Last date of receipt of applications in R.O. in one lot. - 23.04.2014
(iii)
Last date of receipt of applications in C.O. in one lot. - 30.04.2014 If there are no candidates from any Division
/ Unit a NIL report should be sent invariably on or before due date. Otherwise
it will be taken as NIL at the cost and responsibility of the concerned
Division / Unit head.
9.
Applications of all eligible candidates with the recommendation of the Division
/ Unit Head should be forwarded to C.O. in one lot within the stipulated date.
If any of the candidate is not recommended or provisionally recommended, their
cases should be taken up with the respective Regional PMGs for early decision
under intimation to C.O. along with reasons for provisionally recommendation or
if the case is not recommended.
10.
All Regional PMsG are requested to take immediate action to finalize the
provisional
11. Supdt. PSD will ensure for good quality of
blank answer books.
12.
Only Postal Manuals or Swamy’s Compilation on FR/SR & Pension Rules which
are approved by D.G. alone will be allowed to answer the Question Papers,
Pamphlets, Notes, Guides or Such types of guides will not be allowed to answer
the questions by the candidates. Similarly Electronic Calculators are not
allowed to use in the Examination Hall for solving problems. These should be
brought to the notice of all concerned.
